Sometimes, you just feel stuck. Getting discouraged from time to time is completely normal. Everyone goes through phases where it seems like instead of moving forward, they're running in place.
These feelings should go away, right? Most likely, yes, the frustrations and the roadblocks will fade as you learn to work through them, and you’ll pick up where you left off. But what if they don’t?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. This is where your community comes in, and why it’s so important to have a network that you can rely on. Reach out to someone in your network to talk about the struggles you are facing, and you might find the answer you’re looking for. If all else fails, talking about your experience, what you’re going through, and getting it out in the open could be all you need to continue moving in the right direction.
Don’t quit. No matter how frustrated or annoyed you get, don’t be that person who starts something and leaves it unfinished. If you find the need to re-energize, take a break. Stop and reflect on the situation and adjust your mindset before you circle back and face your challenge. Remember that the only way we can grow is through experiences we have - and, not all experiences are good or easy. It’s the hard and challenging times that define who we are.
The only thing getting in the way of achieving your goals is your own self-doubt. But, with hard work and commitment, you truly can accomplish anything that you set your mind to. Once you do break through barriers and come out on the other side, you’ll have identified some invaluable “lessons learned” that will benefit you going forward.
