How to find inspiration when you feel stuck

Anyone who is on a journey towards personal and professional development knows first-hand that the road is not always easy.  There are bumps along the way, and there are times where you will feel stuck.  Facing the tough times head on and pushing through with a positive attitude sounds a lot easier said than done.  Any time you feel discouraged, keep the following ideas in mind:

-  Continue to set goals for yourself, even if you’re not sure how they fit into your ultimate big picture.  If you’re still moving forward and still learning, you’re continuing to grow.

-  Try an activity that you’ve never done before.  Whether it’s a new hobby or maybe a different workout, having new experiences can create new ideas.  Keep challenging your mind and introducing yourself to new things.

-  Travel somewhere new.  When Jared and I traveled to San Francisco, CA for the first time, I was amazed at how much it opened my eyes and allowed me to see things differently in such a short period of time.  Experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, and being in different and exciting environments can spark your creativity and help you to find new ways to be inspired.   Even taking a quick road trip for a long weekend somewhere new might refresh and re-energize your ideas.

-  Talk about it!  This is why you build a community, right?  Reach out to someone in your circle to seek feedback and advice.  Even simply starting up a conversation could lead to new thoughts and ideas.

Obstacles and bumps in the road will always be there, but with the right attitude, they will often disappear as quickly as they popped up.  Reflect on what you’ve done so far, and be proud!  This process is never easy, so it’s important to take time and recognize your accomplishments.
